The Protection Project Human Rights Conference Prize is a scholarship awarded to exceptional university students and young professionals, who exhibit an interest in and commitment to human rights, to attend an international human rights conference. The purpose of the prize is to expose students and young professionals to current issues in the field of human rights. The candidates compete for the prize by drafting a motivational statement and exhibiting proven interest in international human rights. Following the conference, the selected candidate is requested to complete a short applied research project relating to the subject matter of the conference.
The first prize in this competitive process was granted during the 2007-2008 academic year to Ms. Jill Craig from the United States to attend the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Trafficking (UN.GIFT) Vienna Forum in Vienna, Austria (February 12-15, 2008).
