Director of Rule of Law Programs

Ms. Elefante conducts legal research and comparative legal analysis and coordinates programs on legislative assistance, legislative drafting, rule of law, and human rights. She also contributes to The Protection Project publications, workshops and capacity building programs on human trafficking, legal aid and corruption.

Ms. Elefante has been an Assistant Professor of Law at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Turkey, teaching courses on International Human Rights Law and English Legal Terminology and worked on comparative legal analysis research projects on human trafficking in Kiev, Ukraine.

Ms. Elefante received a Laurea in Giurisprudenza cum laude (J.D. equivalent) from the University of Naples, Italy, a Master in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from the University of Siena, Italy and an LL.M. with distinction from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
